On New Years Day City moved level with Premier League leaders Chelsea but no set their eyes on success in the F.A.Cup. City have reached the final twice in the last four seasons,lifting the trophy once. Sheffield Wednesday are City's third round opponents,a team they have already beaten at home this season 7=-0 in the Capital One Cup. The Owls’ most recent appearance in a final came in 1993, when they were beaten 2-1 by Arsenal in a replay. City manager Pellegrini has expressed the importance of the F.A.Cup."For our team it is a very important cup. We are eliminated from the League Cup so we will continue in the FA Cup as far as we can. I am very happy with the way we are playing; we have so many injured players but we arrange it in different ways to continue winning."

With Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Stevan Jovetic all still missing Pellegrini will have to juggle his options upfrony once again for the boxing day fixture with West Brom. City though go into this fixture with eight straight wins behind them. The Baggies have enjoyed an upturn in their performances as well, although they will be bitterly disappointed to have slumped to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of Queens Park Rangers last time out.
